Since August 24 last year, the Japanese authorities have discharged nuclear waste water from Fukushima into the sea. The Hong Kong government has banned the import of seafood from 10 local prefectures and tested the seafood in other areas every day. The Food Safety Center under the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said that from noon the day before yesterday (17th) to noon today (19th), the Food Safety Center has tested the radiation levels of 259 food samples of "aquatic products and their products, seaweed and sea salt" imported from Japan, and no radiation levels exceeding safety standards were found.
